Seventeen-year-old dies in hospital after receiving fatal blow to the head by a friend

An Israeli teenager in the northern city of Carmiel died early Monday morning after an argument among friends over the World Cup final game turned violent.

The victim, aged 17, was hit over the head by one of his friends and collapsed.

He was transferred to hospital in Nahariya and later succumbed to his injuries.

Police arrested a 17-year-old suspect, and were continuing to investigate the incident.

The World Cup final match between Germany and Argentina ended in a 1-0 German victory.
