In the latest such incident, a group of young girls from a kibbutz in southern Israel say they were ordered by a bus driver to cover up and sit in the back of the vehicle.

The girls were riding from Ashdod to go camping in the north at the time of the exchange, a recording of which was published by the Ynet news site.

“This is a line for Haredim,” the driver can be heard saying, using the Hebrew term for ultra-Orthodox.

One of the girls then says she felt “humiliated” by his actions, with the driver in response dismissing her by saying she should complain to television news.

“You live in a Jewish state and need to respect the people who live there,” he says when they tell him they live on a kibbutz.
