At the March for Israel rally, in Washington, DC’s National Mall, actor Michael Rapaport introduces two Jewish students, saying, “and make sure you stay disruptive.”
“I’m bringing up two beautiful students who have been dealing with all the bullshit on campuses,” says Rapaport.
Sabrina Soffer from George Washington University speaks, peppering her statements with Hebrew slogans.
“October 7 confirms that cancerous Jewish hatred festers,” says Soffer. She describes antisemitic hate fests on campus, the celebration of murders against Jews and her campus Hillel building being broken into and its kidnapped posters torn down.
“Our hearts remain shattered by that dark Saturday and the hate we see today,” she says, but she and other students are heartened by professors and administration taking a stand.
“Resilience is what marks our legacy… nothing at all can splinter the Jewish soul,” she says.
“We shall not tremble in fear, our Stars of David will shine on our chests and in our hearts,” she says.
In a fiery speech, Columbia University student Noa Fay describes how over 100 professors have advocated for the destruction of Israel on her campus.
“I am a Black, Native American Jewish American woman and I will not be silenced…. I will continue to shout,” says Fay.
“We are the Jews of the Diaspora, this is how we fight. We fight loudly and we fight peacefully. We are far from helpless, we are far from hopeless,” says Fay.
