Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman hails the IDF operation dismantling an attack tunnel from the Gaza Strip that reached into Israeli territory.
He emphasizes that the underground passage extended into Israel and that the controlled explosion of it took place on the Israeli side of the territory.
“I think the message is clear to all: We will not tolerate a breach of our sovereignty,” he says.”I emphasize that the explosion took place on our territory.”
The tunnel extending from the Gazan city of Khan Younis “proves that despite the Palestinian reconciliation, the Gaza Strip remains a kingdom of terror,” he says.
“We have no interest in an escalation [in hostilities] and we have no intention of letting anyone hurt Israel’s sovereignty,” he says.
Liberman says there was no threat to Israeli citizens at any point.
