Dermer won’t join delegation to Cairo tonight; PM huddling with team before they go

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is convening a meeting with the hostage negotiating team and his key security advisers at 5 p.m. before the negotiators fly to Cairo tonight, an Israeli source tells The Times of Israel.

Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, officially in charge of the team, will not be flying tonight and will join based on progress in the talks.

According to the Kan public broadcaster, US envoy Steve Witkoff and US President Donald Trump’s close adviser and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, won’t be joining the talks right away, either.
