Former hostage Guy Gilboa-Dalal recounts sexual abuse during Hamas captivity in new interview

Former hostage Guy Gilboa-Dalal reveals new details of the sexual abuse he says he endured during more than two years in Hamas captivity, in an excerpt of an interview aired by Channel 12 ahead of its full broadcast this weekend.

Gilboa-Dalal is among a group of recently released hostages set to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House tomorrow.

In the televised snippet, Gilboa-Dalal describes an incident in which a Hamas operative assaulted him after allowing him to shower.

“When I finish the shower, he drags me from there — from the shower. He doesn’t let me wear my clothes. He takes me back to their room, and then he throws me on one of their armchairs. He starts touching me all over my body,” he recalls. “I froze. I told him, ‘You’re joking, right? This is forbidden in Islam.’ He pointed a gun at my neck and told me that if I told someone, he would kill me.”

Gilboa-Dalal is believed to be the second male former hostage to publicly disclose sexual assault during Hamas captivity, following Rom Braslavski, who has spoken about similar abuse.

Braslavski previously described his ordeal as intended “to humiliate me,” adding: “The goal was to crush my dignity. And that’s exactly what [they] did.”

Several released female hostages have also recounted sexual violence and threats while held in Gaza.
