Former Supreme Court president pans bill aimed at stifling state’s top legal body

Former Supreme Court president Miriam Naor criticized legislation aimed at stifling the state’s top legal body, asking if Israelis really wanted to live in a world where “the court lacks the authority to provide relief in the name of governance.”

Speaking at the Bar Association Conference, Naor says that such legislation is not necessary in democratic countries.
