IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir instructed troops fighting in Gaza to increase their level of “vigilance and readiness,” as Hamas has attempted several attacks on army positions in recent days.

Zamir, this morning, met with troops of the Nahal Brigade’s reconnaissance unit in Gaza, and later held an assessment with Southern Command chief Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asor and the commanders of the five divisions currently operating in the Strip, the military says.

The assessment focused on the army’s future plans in Gaza, according to the IDF.
