IDF, Palestinians face off at Gaza border, northern West Bank

Palestinians and Israeli security forces are clashing at the Hawara checkpoint in the northern West Bank. Soldiers are holding back a demonstration that set out from a-Najah University in Nablus and walked toward the checkpoint.

Some 600 Palestinians are also demonstrating in Tulkarm. IDF forces fire crowd-dispersal weapons to hold back the protest. Twelve demonstrators are said hurt from such fire.

Meanwhile, dozens of Palestinians are demonstrating near the Karni crossing on the Gaza border. Protesters are burning tires and attempting to approach the border fence.

IDF forces are reportedly on alert, but no direct fighting has been reported.
