IDF says it foiled attempt to smuggle 40 handguns from Jordan via drone

The army says it foiled an attempt to smuggle 40 handguns into Israel from Jordan using a drone today.
The drone was identified crossing the border, before it was downed by troops of the Yoav Regional Brigade, the IDF says.
The soldiers found the drone to be ferrying 40 pistols. The IDF says the drone and the weapons were handed over to the police.
In the past year, there have been frequent attempts to bring weapons and drugs over the Egyptian border using drones. Smuggling attempts are also frequent on the Jordanian border, although less commonly via drone.
