In a prayer that aired on Palestinian Autority TV last week, an imam called for “the destruction of the tyrannical Jews,” Palestinian Media Watch reports.
“Grant us victory over the infidels,” the imam chants. “Allah, delight us with the conquest and liberation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Allah, make us among the first to enter, the conquerors, the worshipers, and those calling out ‘Allahu Akbar’ inside [the mosque] to You, Master of the Universe.
“Allah, delight us with the destruction of the tyrannical Jews, O Master of the Universe, and [the destruction] of their hypocritical supporters who have evil in their hearts.”
PMW says it has sent the video to the Israel Police and expresses hope that “it will act against this explicit incitement to murder.”
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
