The Islamic Jihad says rocket fire on central Israel was to avenge its slain leaders and civilian casualties killed in IAF strikes.

“The Al-Quds Brigades [armed wing] fulfilled their duty and their promise to the Palestinian martyrs, both the commanders and the civilians,” the statement says.

A spokesperson for the military wing vows to keep up the rocket fire.

“The assassination of our commanders only encourages the fighters to continue the struggle and fight the enemy,” says the spokesman and warns that the circle of fire would be expanded to other Israeli cities.
