Israeli officials surprised by Trump threat to cut off Palestinian aid — report
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleIsraeli officials were reportedly surprised by US President Donald Trump’s threat to slash the hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to Palestinians unless the Palestinian Authority returned to peace negotiations with Israel.
According to Channel 10, Trump’s announcement on Twitter yesterday was not coordinated in advance with Israel.
An official told the TV station that Israel “does not necessarily” support a drop in US aid, because it is keeping the western-backed PA government afloat.
