Israeli airline Israir plans to launch long-haul flights from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport to New York from as early as this summer.
The carrier says it is preparing to offer nonstop flights between Tel Aviv and New York starting in the July-to-September quarter, but does not provide a specific date.
To operate the new route, Israir expects to complete the purchase of two Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft today for about $85 million.
The debut of Israir’s long-haul flight service to New York comes after local rival Arkia launched nonstop service between Tel Aviv and New York in February 2025, bringing more competition into the mix against flag carrier El Al.
Following the outbreak of the US-Israel war with Iran in late February, US carriers stopped flying to Israel. United Airlines and Delta have continued to postpone their resumption of flight services to Tel Aviv to September, and American Airlines to as far as January 2027.
