Morocco breaks up Islamic State cell

Moroccan security forces have broken up a “terrorist cell” linked to the Islamic State (IS) group and arrested its three members, including a woman, the interior ministry says Thursday.

The cell, operating in the cities of Fez, Casablanca and Ouled Taima, followed “instructions from the terrorist group and was planning… attacks in the kingdom,” a statement says.

This is the third time Morocco has announced the arrest of people affiliated with IS since the group carried out a bombing and shooting spree in Paris on November 13 that left 130 people dead.
