Netanyahu tells High Court AG can’t bar him from making legal appointments
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu again tells the High Court of Justice that Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit has no authority to bar the premier from making law enforcement appointments due to conflict of interest stemming from the criminal charges against him, Channel 12 reports.
“The attorney general has no authority to set out a conflict of interest arrangement,” Netanyahu reportedly writes in a document handed to the court. “Parts of the arrangement are unacceptable to me.”
After months of bickering over the issue, Mandelblit recently published his final legal opinion on the matter, saying that as far as he’s concerned, it doesn’t require Netanyahu’s approval.
