One said killed by IDF in Gaza’s Deir al-Balah; local hospital accuses Israel of striking warehouse

A person was killed and two others wounded by an Israeli airstrike at the entrance to central Gaza’s Deir al-Balah, Arabic media reports, citing the city’s al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital.

The IDF does not immediately comment, but regularly attributes such strikes to alleged ceasefire violations by Hamas.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the hospital accuses the military of striking and destroying one of the hospital’s medical equipment warehouses.

The equipment had been transferred to the hospital via the World Health Organization, says the spokesman, Khalil al-Duqran.

“The lives of patients in the hospital are now in danger because of the systematic targeting of the health sector,” he tells Arabic media.

Footage from the site of the strike shows a large crater amid tents and buildings. Cardboard boxes and their contents can be seen scattered in the crater.

The IDF does not immediately comment on the hospital’s allegation. The military denies targeting hospitals, and has accused Hamas of embedding fighters and equipment in medical infrastructure including hospitals.
