Over 1,500 Gazans have passed through Rafah Crossing since February 2 opening — EU

Since the Rafah Crossing opened for pedestrian traffic in both directions on February 2nd, 1,532 people have transited through the crossing, the only one between Gaza and Egypt, the European Union monitoring mission at the site tells The Times of Israel.

In total, 763 Gazans have entered into the Strip and 769 have left, including 278 requiring medical treatment.

According to the Egypt-Israel agreement on the crossing, a maximum of 50 Gazans are allowed to go through in each direction daily, as well two family members accompanying each outgoing patient. Numbers have generally been lower amid logistical and other complications.
