The military plane carrying Israeli tourists home from Alexandria is expected to take off within hours, an Israeli official tells The Times of Israel.

The plane will carry the bodies of the two tourists slain earlier today, as well as survivors of the attack and one wounded Israeli.

Israel’s ambassador in Cairo Amira Oron has been in touch with senior military personnel in Egypt to arrange the logistics of returning the Israelis. The Egyptians are cooperating, says the official.

Diplomatic conversations between top officials have yet to occur.
