PM’s office says Netanyahu briefed by defense brass on IDF ‘fitness and cohesion’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirms the premier is holding deliberations with top defense officials on military readiness, saying he was briefed on the IDF’s “fitness and cohesion” amid concerns these are being harmed amid reservist protests against the judicial overhaul.
“The prime minister ordered that the IDF’s fitness and preparedness be maintained in times of routine and emergency, for any challenge,” says a statement from Netanyahu’s office.
“All the participants in the meeting agreed that political controversies need to be left out of the IDF,” it adds.
Netanyahu has held similar talks “many times in recent weeks,” according to the statement.
