Report: Netanyahu urged Trump not to sell advanced weapons to Turkey

During their phone call on Friday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu complained to US President Donald Trump about anti-Israel comments from senior Turkish officials, including President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Channel 12 reports.

Netanyahu urged Trump not to sell Turkey advanced platforms and weapons for its air force, according to the outlet.

Trump and Erdogan are expected to discuss Turkey’s wish to rejoin the F-35 program at the NATO summit this week in Ankara.

According to a senior US official, Trump might ask Erdogan to tone down the rhetoric against Israel.
