Russia says no decisions made yet on S-300 delivery to Syria

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says Moscow has not yet made a decision on whether to deliver its powerful S-300 missile defense system to Syria in the near future.

“We’ll have to wait to see what specific decisions the Russian leadership and representatives of Syria will take,” the TASS news agency quoted Lavrov as saying, according to Reuters.

“There is probably no secret about this and it can all be announced (if a decision is taken),” says Lavrov.

Citing anonymous government sources, the Russian daily Kommersant reported earlier on Monday that Moscow may soon supply the regime with the S-300, despite opposition from Israel and other Western powers.
