Senior security officials who briefed the security cabinet today warned that without an agreement in maritime border talks with Lebanon, there will be an escalation with Hezbollah, the Walla news site reports.

Citing sources in the meeting, the report says security chiefs said clashes with the Shiite terror group could involve several days of fighting.

Ministers received an update on US-led mediation efforts to resolve the maritime border dispute between the two countries over a region with significant natural gas desposits.
