The Shin Bet security agency says that Iran was likely behind a delivery of a wreath of flowers, of the sort usually laid at graves, to the home of hostage Liri Albag.
Attached to the wreath was a note reading, “May her memory be a blessing, we all know that the country is more important.”
“An initial investigation by the Shin Bet raises the suspicion that the people behind the delivery of the bouquet of flowers to the home of the family of hostage Liri Albag, are most likely Iranian elements,” the agency says.
The Shin Bet says it is continuing to investigate the incident.
Albag, 19, was taken hostage during the shock onslaught by the Iran-backed Hamas terror group on October 7 and remains in Gaza with some 130 other hostages. She is believed to be alive.
