Stabbing victim fought attacker with phylacteries

Avraham Goldstein, the man who was stabbed in Jerusalem earlier today, says he fought off his attacker with his phylacteries.

“I felt a strong blow to my stomach,” he tells Ynet. “I yelled to everyone ‘stabbing’ so that they would run away, and then he came to stab me again and I hit him with my phylacteries.”

Earlier reports had erroneously said that Goldstein fended off the stabber with a wedding present.
