UN’s Guterres expresses alarm over escalation in Middle East

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says he is “deeply alarmed” by the renewed escalation in violence in the Middle East.
“All attacks must stop immediately. The ceasefires in Lebanon, Iran & Gaza must be fully respected,” he writes in a post on X.
Iran and Israel announced yesterday that they would halt attacks on each other after exchanging fire, beginning with Iranian missiles launched at Israel Sunday evening.
