WASHINGTON — The White House was “not aware” of the meeting that US Ambassador Mike Huckabee held with former US Navy analyst Jonathan Pollard, who was convicted of spying on behalf of Israel, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says during a briefing.

“The White House was not aware of that meeting, but the president stands by Ambassador Huckabee and all that he’s doing for the United States and Israel,” Leavitt says in response to a question on a New York Times report revealing the meeting earlier this year, which was said to have angered the CIA and other senior officials in the administration.
