White House: Trump didn’t do ‘anything constructive’ to bring Mideast peace

The White House dismisses the Abraham Accords brokered by the Trump administration that saw the establishment of diplomatic ties between Israel and several Arab states.

“Aside from putting forward a peace proposal that was dead on arrival, we don’t think they did anything constructive, really, to bring an end to the long-standing conflict in the Middle East,” says Press Secretary Jen Psaki, when asked specifically about the normalization agreements.

It was not clear whether Psaki was referring to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in particular or broader Israel-Arab ties in the region, though she only referred to the former.
