On March 26, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum confirmed the death of Uriel Baruch, 35, who was taken hostage to Gaza. His body is still held by Hamas in Gaza. This is the story of his capture:

Uriel Baruch, 35, was abducted by Hamas terrorists on October 7 from the Supernova desert rave.

He went to the outdoor trance party with a friend. The next morning, his family saw videos on social media showing Baruch’s car with his friend dead inside the car and Baruch on the ground.

His family didn’t know if he was alive, dead or injured.

The family searched every hospital around the country, hoping that he was perhaps laying unidentified in one of them.

Eleven days later, the army told them that they had identified the body of Baruch’s friend and found no blood on the road next to Baruch’s car. They thought he was alive.

It took another week for them to identify Baruch as presumed captive, but without any concrete evidence of him being held in Gaza.

Baruch is married to Rachel, and the father of two boys. The family lives in Givon, outside Jerusalem.
