The Times of Israel Presents: Israeli cinema, theater and conversation – in English
A new series of regular events in Jerusalem will showcase the best of Israeli culture and public life for visitors and English-speaking residents
JERUSALEM — Israeli writers, filmmakers, musicians and public figures are lining up to join The Times of Israel’s new series of English-language events in Jerusalem. They include ex-Mossad chief Efraim Halevy, Oscar-nominated director Joseph Cedar, and acclaimed author David Grossman.
From February, we will be interviewing the country’s top personalities live on stage and presenting the best of Israeli theatre and cinema available in English.
February 14: THE CITY
On February 14, the Incubator Theater’s acclaimed “hip-hop opera” “The City” — a popular sellout show in its Hebrew original — will be performed in English at Bet Mazia in central Jerusalem.
“The play tells a classic noir tale of private detective Joe meeting a mysterious woman who convinces him to investigate her sister’s strange disappearance,” reports Jessica Steinberg.
Tickets are available HERE.
February 26: EFRAIM HALEVY
On February 26, Times of Israel editor in chief David Horovitz will interview ex-Mossad director Efraim Halevy live on stage at the Hirsch Theater, Bet Shmuel, near the David Citadel Hotel. He’ll also be signing copies of his superb memoir “Man in the Shadows.” Tickets available HERE.

We’ll be meeting the movie’s director, Elite Zexer, who’ll be answering questions live on stage at the Jerusalem Cinematheque. Tickets available HERE.
