Suspects beat driver and flee in car near Beit Horon

Two Palestinians posing as Jewish hitchhikers attacked an Israeli, robbing him and stealing his car near Beit Horon junction Sunday.

The 27-year-old driver picked up the two near the West Bank settlement of Beit Horon on Route 443. Shortly after boarding the vehicle the passengers attacked the driver, threw him out of the car and fled in the vehicle.

The driver, reportedly a resident of the area, sustained minor injuries and did not require further medical treatment. “It is suspected that they were planning to rob the car in advance and acted to stop the driver,” Channel 10 News quoted a police official as saying.

Earlier Sunday an Israeli tow truck driver shot and killed two Palestinians and injured another near Hebron, after the two reportedly tried to beat him, hijack his vehicle, and kidnap him.
