Border policeman arrested for reportedly robbing house

Gendarme allegedly showed counterfeit search warrant to Netanya woman, stole money from her home during illegal search

A Border Police officer was arrested and under investigation on suspicion of presenting a Netanya resident with a false search warrant and stealing money from her home.

According to an Israel Radio report Wednesday, the Justice Ministry’s Police Investigation Division on Tuesday arrested the border policeman. The charge sheet contended that the officer handed the Netanya resident a fake search warrant and demanded that he be let in to investigate the premises. During the search, he allegedly stole cash from the victim’s house.

The gendarme was taken for investigation by the Military Police, who are investigating the case. Authorities were probing whether the officer was involved in other similar incidents.
