Jimmy Carter biography to be released in 2018
A week after announcement he has cancer, ex-president said to be cooperating on new book examining his life

NEW YORK — The author of books on Presidents Barack Obama and Franklin Roosevelt is working on a biography of Jimmy Carter.
Simon & Schuster announced Tuesday that Jonathan Alter’s book on Carter will have “extensive cooperation” from the former president and those who know him.
The book is scheduled to be published in 2018 and is currently untitled.
Simon & Schuster is also Carter’s publisher and recently issued his memoir “A Full Life.” The 90-year-old Carter announced last week that he was being treated for cancer that has spread to his brain.
Alter’s previous works include “The Defining Moment,” about Roosevelt’s first 100 days in office, and “The Promise,” which covers the first year of Obama’s presidency.
