An estimated 63 kilograms (140 pounds) of drugs, including heroin and cocaine, were confiscated by police forces in the south of Israel late Tuesday night.

The bust is considered an unusually large one, and is significant also for its location. The Arava region which borders Jordan is known to be an active smuggling route for drugs entering Israel.
