Two 15-year-old boys were killed in a car crash after attempting to flee from police in Umm al-Fahm early Thursday morning.

The vehicle’s driver, who was driving without a license, evaded officers who attempted to pull the car over for a routine inspection before crashing into a parked car in the Iron valley town.

The two fatalities were sitting in the back seat. One was killed instantly and one died en route to Haemek Hospital in Afula.

The car’s driver suffered minor injuries.

A policeman was also lightly wounded when the fleeing vehicle slammed into a police cruiser.

The police launched an investigation into the incident, but stressed that officers did not give chase to the teens.
