Two tourists drown at Hadera beach
One man apparently entered water to help his friend but was also pulled underwater; medics unable to save the pair

Two tourists drowned Friday at a beach in Hadera, north of Tel Aviv. The two men, aged 30 and 40, were pulled out of the water by lifeguards but could not be saved.
Ynet news quoted a witness who said one of the men entered the water to help his friend, but both were then swept under the waves.
Magen David Adom paramedic Bar Ezer said her team initially treated the 30-year-old man after he was pulled out of the water. He wasn’t breathing and had no pulse. “After 20 minutes as we were attempting resuscitation a second man in his forties was pulled out unconscious.”
The 30-year-old was declared dead at the scene. The older man was evacuated to hospital where he later died as well.
On Saturday morning a man in his fifties was in critical condition after a near drowning in Kiryat Yam, north of Haifa.
