A glass and a bottle of beer were thrown from the eighth floor of a hotel in Netanya at guests who attended a wedding between two gay men at the site.
One person was lightly injured, Hadashot News reported Friday.
“We were in shock,” Zoharit Sorek, who officiated at the marriage ceremony, told Hadashot. “Just before breaking the glass [cup, as is customary in Jewish weddings], I was about to say that breaking the glass is a sad moment and the couple chose to remember that there is still homophobia in Israel.”
Police soon arrived at the scene, and the ceremony continued as planned.
“We do not run and we do not hide,” Sorek said.
