Body of foreign national found in Ashkelon building

30-year-old Eritrean citizen pronounced dead on the scene; police open murder investigation

The body of a foreign national was found in the entrance to a residential apartment building Monday morning in Ashkelon, police said.

A medical team pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The individual, a 30-year-old male who authorities said was an Eritrean citizen, was found with signs of trauma on his body.

Police opened a murder investigation and a forensic unit examined the body and the immediate area.

No arrests have yet been made.
