A police officer on Sunday shot and killed his wife in their home in the central town of Netanya while three children were in the apartment with them.
The officer, 24, killed his wife, 36, before phoning police to say “I murdered my wife,” police said.
The children included the couple’s two-month-old baby and two children from the wife’s previous marriage.
Police said there had been no previous reports of domestic violence or problems in the family and it was not clear why he had done so.

Police imposed a gag order on further details of the case, including the identity of those involved.
This was the second case of a man killing his wife in Israel in the last week.
