Police said Saturday that there were concerns for the safety of a 24-year-old mother-of-two from the coastal city of Acre who has been missing since Thursday morning.

Relatives of Sapir Nachum were said to fear the worst after she was last seen entering a car belonging to the father of her children, who had a history of violent offenses. Nahum was said to be involved in a dispute over finances with the man.

Nachum was last seen in person when she left her home on Herzl Street on Thursday morning with her two-year-old daughter, who she dropped off at the kindergarten. Nachum also has an eight-month-old baby.

According to her sister, Eden, she was supposed to return home shortly thereafter but never came back.

She was apparently seen in security video footage entering a car belonging to the father of her children.

According to a Ynet report, it was unclear from the footage whether she remained in the vehicle or not.

On Saturday, police arrested Nachum’s partner, a resident of Acre in his 30s, in connection with her disappearance.

The suspect is known to the police and has been arrested before for vandalism as well as violent offenses.

He is also reportedly known to the public from TikTok, regularly uploading videos of his vandalism. He was recently arrested after entering Kibbutz Kfar Masaryk with a group of friends on a horse and cart and causing a disturbance, according to the Ynet news site.

“I never liked their relationship,” Nachum’s sister Eden told Ynet. “I didn’t know they were back together. When they were together they didn’t have any problems, they were very nice to each other. But lately, they had some issues because he refused to pay alimony. They were planning on meeting an attorney.”

Eden told Channel 12 news that she was concerned given the man’s history of violence.

“I saw the racist videos he uploaded to TikTok and I was in shock. He is a criminal, he sat in jail for 12 years and got into a lot of trouble with the police,” she said.

Police said they launched a widespread search, deploying helicopters, drones, mounted police, jeeps and canine units in the hunt for the young mother. Police said that anyone with any details about Nachum’s whereabouts or any information that could be helpful for the case is asked to report it to the police.
