Police have arrested four protesters blocking a road in Jerusalem during a demonstration in support of the Supreme Court.
Protest organizers say participants, linking arms, began blocking an intersection near the Supreme Court this morning. A handful of demonstrators were also seen atop an archway over the road.
The detained activists were taken to the Moriah police station in the capital. Yoni Nussbaum, a lawyer who does pro bono work for detained anti-government protesters, says he is headed to the station.
Later this evening, protesters are expected to join in a march from Chords Bridge, near the entrance to Jerusalem, to the Supreme Court. “We will not allow them to trample the Supreme Court,” say organizers in a statement announcing the march.
