‘A ceasefire would abandon southern Israel’ — Dichter
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on Google“The heart is torn over every soldier’s death,” says Avi Dichter, a former MK and minister who headed the Shin Bet during Operation Defensive Shield in 2002. “But let’s keep this in proportion. In a single suicide bombing in March 2002, we lost 30 people and we launched Operation Defensive Shield” to tackle Hamas’s suicide bombing bases in the West Bank.
“To agree to a ceasefire now is to abandon the residents of southern Israel,” says Dichter on Channel 2.
Israelis are ready for the military action needed to strategically harm Hamas, he says, and the army is certainly ready.
