Alleged leader of Israeli organized crime ring gets 32 years
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA California man who prosecutors say was a leader of an Israeli organized crime ring that moved drugs and money across the globe has been sentenced to 32 years in prison.
Moshe Matsri was sentenced Friday in federal court in Los Angeles. Prosecutors recommended he be sentenced to 34 years in prison, while his own attorney argued for a 12-year term.
Prosecutors say Mastri led the US outpost of the crime ring, laundering large amounts of drugs and money around the world and using violence and threats to get what he wanted.
Matsri’s attorney says he’ll appeal the lengthy prison sentence and that his client is a good man.
