Conference of Presidents condemns terror attack, pride parade stabbing

Stephen Greenberg, Chairman, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, say in a statement that they “expressed their profound sorrow to the Dawabsha family on the death of their child, Ali Saad Dawabsha, in a fire apparently deliberately set in an act of revenge. We are also deeply disturbed by the wanton attack in Jerusalem against participants of the Gay Pride event.”

“These outrageous actions warrant the broadest condemnation and we welcome the strong statements and actions by the government of Israel to apprehend those responsible and to bring them to justice,” the organization says. “These attacks, as well as the many recorded terror incidents in the past week that injured twenty-two Israelis can never be justified. They must be met with determined action to prevent violence, apprehend perpetrators, and hold to account those who engage in incitement. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.”
