Contacts reported between IDF officers and Azaria family over deal

The head of the Kfir unit in which Sgt. Elor Azaria served held a meeting with Azaria’s father in which he suggested that if they don’t appeal the conviction and change there legal team, he might get a lighter sentence or a pardon, Channel 2 reports.
He is set to be sentenced next week, concluding a high-profile trial that deeply divided the country. His attorneys accused the court of bias and vowed to appeal.
Earlier today Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman suggested that if Azaria’s supporters want to help him, they should “sit quietly.”
