Cop who fatally shot Bedouin man to be questioned again over new footage

The officer who fatally shot a Bedouin man during a house search last week at his home has been summoned for interrogation a second time, after investigators got new footage of the incident.

He was questioned Sunday by investigators in the Department for Internal Police Investigations on suspicion of shooting unlawfully. He was released to five days’ house arrest and barred from entering police stations for a week.

The officer, whose name is under a gag order, is being probed on suspicion of shooting 36-year-old Muhammad Hussein Tarabin in his home on Saturday night.

While police say the man posed a threat to forces, the slain man’s family rejects the claim and insists the officer shot him in the chest without provocation.
