Egypt denies fans planned to attack Israeli soccer coach Grant
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleEgypt is denying that Egyptian soccer fans planned to attack Ghana national soccer team’s Israeli coach Avram Grant during a November 13 FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Egypt.
Reports that originally came from Ghana media said the Egypt Football Association uncovered a plan by extremist local fans to attack Grant.
But Osama Ismail a spokesman for Egypt’s Football Association, denies this, telling Alarabiya.net that Ghana’s Israeli coach is “welcomed by Egypt’s football Association and Egyptian fans.”
He also says that Egyptian fans respect Grant and his team regardless of his nationality or religion.
