Egyptian sources say lull could be extended by 1 or 2 days to enable release of more hostages – reports

The lull in fighting could be extended for a further one or two days to enable the release of more Israeli hostages held by terrorists in Gaza, Channel 12 news reports.

The Kan public broadcaster cites Egyptian sources who say that there are “positive signs” that the temporary ceasefire could be extended.

Around 50 Israeli hostages — children, their mothers and other women — are set to be freed over the four days, during which the IDF is halting its military campaign to destroy the Hamas terror group in Gaza. Three Palestinian security prisoners are to be freed in exchange for each hostage.

According to the agreement, the four-day truce can potentially be extended for one extra day for each group of 10 more hostages freed by Hamas.
