Elderly man detained on suspicion of sexually harassing internet personality Hadar Muchtar
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePolice detained a man this morning on suspicion of sexual harassment, after he was filmed making vulgar remarks to internet personality Hadar Muchtar during a Tel Aviv protest.
He was brought to the Lev Tel Aviv police station for interrogation after Muchtar filed a complaint against the man, who is reportedly 80 years old.
In footage from the incident, Muchtar is heard asking the man: “Why are you touching me?”
He responds to her, “Because you’re terribly beautiful and it’s fun to touch you.”
He was released after his interrogation, subject to restrictions, police say.
Building an Alternative, a women-run protest group, condemns the incident, saying it “doesn’t matter which party she votes for or runs with… you have no right to sexually harass her.”
Muchtar, a well-known TikTok personality, is known for frequenting anti-government protests to argue with participants.
