A Fire and Rescue Services investigator determines that a number of fires in southern Israel earlier today were sparked by balloon-borne incendiary devices launched from the Gaza Strip.

According to the fire department, the arson attacks sparked three small brushfires in the Eshkol region of southern Israel.

“A fire investigator from the Southern District Fire and Rescue Services determined that the blaze was caused by the launching of incendiary balloons,” a fire department spokesperson says.
